LG washer error codes OE, UE, LE, dE: what they mean
| Code | Meaning | Try first |
|---|---|---|
| OE | Won't drain | Clean the drain pump filter (small door, bottom front; keep towels ready). Check for a kinked hose and make sure the hose isn't pushed too far into the standpipe. |
| UE / uE | Load unbalanced | Redistribute the load. Don't wash a single heavy item alone. Level the machine and check the feet. |
| IE | Not filling | Both faucets open? Clean the inlet screens where the hoses attach to the washer. |
| dE / dE1 | Door/lid lock problem | Close firmly. Check for clothing caught in the door. Power-cycle. |
| LE | Motor locked / overloaded | Reduce the load and power-cycle. If it repeats, the motor, rotor or hall sensor needs a tech. |
| tE | Heater/thermistor | Usually a part. Call for service. |
When to call
A code that comes back after the fix above, or LE/tE codes, means parts. Drain pumps and door locks are standard, worthwhile repairs. A failed tub bearing (loud roar on spin) on an older unit is often a replace decision.
